I Found IT in BusinessWeek:
When Tesla shook the technological world by introducing their plan to create self-driving freight vehicles on a large scale, competitors were not hesitant to jump on the bandwagon (or semi-truck in this case.) One of these competitors being Lyft, the transportation company that was once the inferior brother to Uber. However, inferiority is no longer synonymous with Lyft, as they are making bold moves to surpass their competitors. They have just recently hired Jon McNeill, the former president of global sales and services at Tesla, who will work on elevating their competitive edge through customer satisfaction and technological advances. This is crucial to them now, more than ever, after Elon Musk mentioned implementing an “Uber/Lyft- like” system to their self driving fleet of cars. Lyft is hoping to utilize their new addition to the company, McNeill, to make up for lost time regarding these self-driving advances in transportation.
The ingenuity of autonomous driving has given two companies, that otherwise would never have been direct competitors, a chance to completely enhance the competitive environment of the transportation business. Although Lyft currently offers services that Tesla doesn’t provide at the moment, and vice versa, that will be a thing of the past when they begin to implement this new technology within their companies. The foreseeable opportunities are endless, opening up many new companies to the possibility of joining the transportation market or enhancing their own market with this new technology. This specific exhibition of technological advancement speaks to the power of our progress and the opportunities the business world has now, to quite literally, code their future.
